Women injured in an accident north of Cook

A 60-year-old woman was injured in a single vehicle accident on Monday morning. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a report of an accident with injuries at 10:46 a.m. at the 3400 block of Vermilion Drive just north of Cook, Minnesota.

When they arrived on scene, authorities found a truck had gone off the road, down an embankment and struck a tree. They located a 60-year-old female trapped inside the vehicle. The Cook Fire Department was able to free the woman from the wreck.

The woman, who police say is from Rosemount, was treated by EMS on the scene and airlifted to a Duluth area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office.
