Wisconsinites line Belknap for Superior’s Independence Day Parade

Wisconsinites lined Belknap Ave. for Superior’s 26th Annual Independence Day Parade. Mayor Jim Paine dubs it as, “One of Superior’s best celebrations of the whole year.”

He estimates that thousands of people turned up for the event.

One of them is Danielle Lavato of Superior went to the parade to enjoy the beautiful weather among the crowd: “This is amazing to see the turnout that showed up here. And it’s just a representation of how wonderful the country is that we live in, and Superior is an amazing city.”

The party moves to Barkers Island at 5:30 p.m. with a flyover of the the 115th Fighter Wing. Live music starts at 6 p.m. and fireworks launch at 10 p.m..
