Two arrested, one at-large after fleeing crash scene

Two people were arrested and another still at-large after the vehicle they were traveling in allegedly failed to stop for the State Patrol, crashed, and then the group fled on foot.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, just after 3 p.m. Monday, a driver in a Dodge Charger fled from a State Patrol trooper, who was attempting to make a traffic stop for speeding. They say the driver failed to stop for the emergency lights and sirens.

Shortly after, the driver crashed at Coffee Creek and Highway 53 in Duluth.

The three allegedly fled from the crashed vehicle, and two of the involved were apprehended shortly after.

The two people are being held at the Saint Louis County Jail.

The driver was booked on suspicion of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and felon in possession of a firearm.

There were no injuries in this crash.

The third occupant was not located. This remains an open investigation.
