Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center to get boat launch replaced

A heads up if you have plans to visit the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center boat launch in the near future.

The National Park Service will be replacing the boat launch due to its deteriorated condition.

Actual launch ramp closure dates are pending due to the contracting process and considerations for weather.

The dates for the construction of the new boat launch will be posted later this month. However the process is expected to occur between mid-August and September 30th, according to a press release from Voyageurs National Park.

The new ramp will include one-inch-deep V-grove patterns to assist with traction while launching or loading watercrafts.

During the replacement process, the visitor center picnic area, beach, canoe/kayak launch and vault toilet adjacent to the boat launch will be closed.

Watercraft access from the lake to the visitor center and marina will remain open.

A portable toilet will also be provided for visitor use during this time.
