Waking up this Monday morning and stepping outside had many of us putting on heavier jackets, breaking out hats and gloves, and even turning on the heat. Low across the Northland dropped into the 20s. Once again, tonight a frost and freeze warning has been issued until 9am Tuesday. A massive low spinning in Ontario is continuing to bring weak impulses across the border along with cooler than average conditions. These weak impulses will likely bring additional rain showers to the south shore due to lake effect.

There is a chance parts of the arrowhead may see some light snow tonight fall from the sky. Nothing will likely accumulate but frosty grassy surfaces are possible. This pattern will likely stick through mid-week until the low in Ontario moves out east. Beginning Thursday a large low will emerge out of the Colorado and work northward toward the upper Midwest. Heavy rain along with flooding and high winds could create some issues late Thursday and Friday. Stronger winds off the lake could bring in just the right conditions for surfers to hit Lake Superior.
