The entire Northland is now under and Air Quality Alert due to Canadian Wildfire smoke. Each state has different expiration times. Minnesota will expire around 3pm Saturday. Wisconsin will expire at 12pm Sunday and Michigan will expire at midnight tonight. Conditions will likely get worse this evening before it gets better overnight. People who may have breathing issues will certainly have troubles this afternoon and evening if spending too much time outside.

In the meantime, scattered showers and storms are possible in northern Wisconsin this afternoon. There isn’t sufficient energy to create severe thunderstorms but some isolated storms with smaller hail, gusty winds and lightning is possible. We will see this trend through the first half of Saturday, but chances are very small.

Another round of Thunderstorms is possible late Sunday into Monday. Temperatures will cool down over the weekend as the low responsible for our weather slides from Canada into Northern Minnesota. Winds will also become rather gusty.
