Virginia Family Dental signed on again for the Freedom Day USA program, which provides free service to veterans.

This is the 7th year they have participated. And the number of vets they reach keeps growing. They had nearly 40 people get care.

Lowell Jensen was one of them. “It’s hard to explain how appreciated this is. When we came home from Vietnam, it was not a nice homecoming.”

Dr. Michael Miskovich told us that many of the staff have family who’ve served. So it makes sense to give back like this. “It’s been great. You make friends with these vets, and hear their stories.”

Dr. Jason Naud from Northland Periodontal Associates helped out again this year as well. He said they worked on a way to see even more people this year.

“We see veterans in our clinics. And they sometimes have to drive 100s of miles to get to their appointments at the VA, so this is a great way to give back,” Naud told us.

Fanci Williams, a licensed dental assistant, sure was having fun on Freedom Day. “It’s about giving back to those who served us,” she said.

Super One and F&D Meats donated goodies to help make the day even more special.

Joe Walls, from F&D, said his dad was in the navy, so this pulls on his heartstrings. ‘It feels really good. Knowing some of those people walk through our doors here, too.”

Virginia Family Dental hopes to keep growing this program.
