Essentia Health hosted an evening of job interviews for registered nurses and nursing students in the Twin Ports today, Wednesday March 29th.
“We can put people into smaller markets, larger markets, mid-market. You know, so while we’re focused today here in Duluth, we can have a candidate walk in today that might be a candidate for our other operations or might be a person for our Moose Lake operation just up the road. So all kinds of opportunities,” said John Higgins, VP of Talent Management at Essentia Health.
Essentia staff greeted contenders, conducted an initial screening and select candidates were verbally offered a position before leaving.
“I would like to think that we have one of the best health care systems in the country. Essentia works with everyone and we have people come here and they’re willing to talk to us and ask their questions and we can answer them right back,” says Mykle Hadreva, an administration representative/RN at Essentia Virginia.
Coming off the heels of the Minnesota Nurses Association Strike, nurses are needed now more than ever.
“The fact is nurses make all the difference. We have profound respect, profound gratitude for the incredible work that they do each and every day. We are super excited to be at a place now where we have a great contract in place for our nurses, and look forward to the future,” finishes Higgins.
