Duluth church celebrates solar panel project on the summer solstice

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth is proud of their new solar project.

They believe they are the first church to have both a grass rooftop and solar panels in our region.

And it’s likely the first solar array installed in 2023 that is eligible for the new non-profit solar rebate.

Church leaders hosted a dedication event on Wednesday, the summer solstice.

There are a total of 80 panels on top of the church, which will generate over 40% of the energy that the church needs in the first year.
