The Chester Bowl Improvement Club celebrated the installment of a new bridge with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday afternoon. Community members gathered to talk with project leaders to talk about the installment and summer camp kids were even able to parade across the bridge during the celebration. The bridge replaced the one that was swept away during a flood in 2012. A footbridge was put in place after the incident until the new bridge could be completed.

Project officials stated that this is the first of many projects the Improvement Club hopes to bring into Chester Park and are hopeful that these projects will benefit generations to come. The projects are being funded by several local agencies including a grant from St. Louis County.  Chester Bowl was also awarded funds for scholarships to help ensure that families can enjoy the facilities in both the winter and summer months.
