On Saturday May 6th bird watchers of all abilities gathered together to hang out and birdwatch at ‘Everyone can bird’.

The event was held at Boy Scout landing public water access in Duluth along the St. Louis river.

It was organized by the Wisconsin sea grant and Friends of Lake Superior Reserve. The event provided sign language interpretation, stationary birding options, binoculars and spotting scopes for birdwatchers to better their experience.

One of the organizers who is an Education Coordinator at the Lake Superior Reserve had this to say.

“There’s a lot of migration happening, birds coming further north. So we were excited for waterfowl down here on the Saint Louis River estuary. The biggest thing is that there’s been tons of loons flying overhead.”

In case you missed it, you can register for the next one coming up on August 2nd at Barker’s Island or the October 14th one in Hawk Ridge here in Duluth.
