Superior School Board seeks seventh member from the community

The School Board for the District of Superior is looking for applications for a seventh board member after the recent resignation of Steve Stupak.

Interested applicants must live in Douglas County and submit a letter to Board President Steve Olson by September 18 at 4 p.m. Letters may be dropped off at the Superior Administrative Office (3025 Tower Ave, Superior, WI 54880) or emailed to School Board Deputy Clerk Anne Schultz (anne.schultz@superior.k12.wi.us).

The letter should include four items:

  1. The candidate’s biography
  2. Experience and qualifications for the opening
  3. Why the candidate is interested in the position
  4. What the candidate hopes to accomplish as a board member.

“This is an opportunity for our community to get involved in a positive way,” said President Steve Olson. “Everything we do is for our students, and we must ensure everyone is career, college, and life-ready. We want someone who has the needs of our students at the forefront of every decision.”

Once applications are submitted, the Board of Education will host a special open meeting on September 25 to conduct candidate interviews and then vote to determine who will fill the vacant seat. The selected person will hold the office until the 2024 spring election.
