UPDATE: Southbound 27th Ave. W ramp onto I-35 to close June 26

After a number of delays, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says the southbound 27th Avenue ramp that allows drivers to get onto I-35 will be closed on Monday, June 26. The closure is expected to take a month.

MnDOT says crews will be working to remove and reconstruct the southbound exit ramp at 27th Avenue West. The ramp will be closed for the next 30 days. Signs will be put in place for the detour, which will follow Michigan Street to 40th Avenue West.

The exit ramp from southbound I-35 to 27th Avenue West will also be closed during this time as crews continue to work on the ramp. Drivers needing to exit southbound I-35 at 27th Avenue West are being routed to 40th Avenue West and then back north.

There were multiple notifications sent with different start dates for this portion of the project.
