Justin Liles: Much cooler by lake this week

A persistent lake breeze is going to create annoying weather conditions for the majority of the week for communities near the shore of Lake Superior. Scattered showers are likely along with a few imbedded thunderstorms this early evening. The rain and the wind will work together to cool things and create some thicker fog that is likely going to develop not only tonight but Tuesday night too.

This will be one of those weeks where getting away from the lake might not be such a bad idea. More sunshine along with warmer temperatures are likely. By Wednesday, the winds look to become more southerly. This may allow the Twin Ports to warm up into the mid-60s in the higher terrain. There will be several chances of rain showers all week too. It won’t be a wash out but Tuesday night into Wednesday looks wet as well as some on and off again chances this weekend heading into the Minnesota Fishing Opener.
