Come see a story in Italian that features lust, jealousy, and betrayal as starring roles.

That’s in Cavalleria Rusticana, put on by Lyric Opera of the North.

Stage Director Marni Raab explained, “If it were written today, it would probably be like a reality TV show.
So envision kind of a hardcore love quadrilateral, with all of the the gooey, sensational things that you would see in a reality TV show, but set against the backdrop of grand opera.”

She said there is a good mix of out of towners and local people putting the production on.

The opera is Friday, June 9th at 7pm and Sunday June 11th at 3pm at the Marshall Performing Arts Center at UMD.
