UWS men’s tennis serves up victory over Northwestern

On Wednesday the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s tennis team held off the University of Northwestern 5-4 to come one step closer to securing a share of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title.

Andre Luiz del Melo Guedes and Gergo Potz Nagy led the Yellowjackets on the number one doubles court downing the Eagles 8-3. UWS would go 2-1 in doubles play at the Yellowjackets Outdoor Tennis Complex.

In singles play it would all come down to the number five court where Jace Gilbertson secured a clutch victory lifting UWS to the 5-4 win.

The Yellowjackets (12-5) remain undefeated in conference play improving to 6-0. They will need a win over their next foe the University of Minnesota Morris Friday to secure a share of the UMAC title. First serve is set for 4pm at UWS.
