For the fourth time this offseason a University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey player has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal. According to the Duluth News Tribune Connor Kelley is the latest Bulldog to do so, leaving the blue line shorthanded.

A sophomore defenseman, Kelley played in 39 games this past season tallying two goals and nine assists.

The Chicago Blackhawks draft pick out of Maple Grove, Minnesota started the 2021-2022 season with UMD in a top-four blue line role. He first played alongside fifth year Matt Anderson, then fellow sophomore Blackhawks pick Wyatt Kaiser, and freshman Owen Gallatin.

Kelley joins senior defenseman Jake Rosenbaum, senior forward Jarrett Lee, and junior forward Ben Almquist as Bulldogs reportedly in the transfer portal.
