UMD men’s hockey picks up goalie transfer from Maine
After University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey goaltender Ryan Fanti signed with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers last week, the Bulldogs went on to add depth to their goalie position on Monday.
On Twitter University of Maine netminder Matthew Thiessen announced he’s transferring to the Bulldogs for next season.
A junior last year, the 2018 Vancouver Canucks NHL draft selection started in 12 games at Maine.
Thank you to everyone at the University of Maine for the last three years. I have built amazing relationships that’ll last a lifetime! That being said, I’m excited to start a new chapter at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and become a bulldog! pic.twitter.com/6TxZtNbeVY
