The final poll before the start of the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey tournament has dropped and the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) faired well.

After notching back-to-back shutouts to claim the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Frozen Faceoff crown, the Bulldogs moved up two spots to number six in the latest USCHO.com rankings. UMD now carries a 21-15-4 overall record into their seventh straight NCAA tournament.

They’ll open the first round against 14th ranked Michigan Technological University in the Loveland, Colorado regional. Puck drop is set for Thursday at 2pm.

Meanwhile the UMD women’s hockey team landed their highest ranking to end a season since 2010. They closed out the 2021-2022 campaign ranked second in the nation’s polls following a NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey tournament runner-up finish.

The Bulldogs complete their season with a 27-12-1 overall record after their second straight Frozen Four appearance.
