  • Thursday, July 18 – August 29 – Beer Gardens return to the Great Lakes Aquarium for the 5th summer in a row. Every Thursday, enjoy al fresco food and beverages on the Duluth Harbor. The event features $5 Earth Rider Brewery beers along with other local craft beer offerings, Duluth Ciden and more. From 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on the Great Lakes Aquarium grounds. Enjoy food truck offerings and spectacular views. There will be a rotating ensemble from the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, who will be performing from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. each week. Admission is free.
  • Sunday, July 28 – Last day to experience Finnish culture and be part of something exceptional at the DECC in Duluth. There’s a lot of things to do during this 5-Day festival. Interact with world-leading experts on foreign affairs, architecture, Finnish language, environment and wellness. Enjoy food, games, music and art. Details at https://2024.finnfest.us/
  • Sunday, July 28 – The 44th annual Blueberry Art Festival in Whiteside Park in Ely, Minn. With over 237 booths filled with artists and crafters, 25 food vendors, a beer garden and freshly baked blueberry pies – there is something for everyone.   • Sunday, July 28 – Carlton Daze in Carlton, Minnesota. There will be a parade at 1PM on Sunday. Enjoy a Bubble Dance Party and Kids Coin Hunt following the parade. Free Hot Dogs and Root Beer floats at the Carlton Fire Department. More details https://carltonchamber.com/carlton-daze/
  • Tuesday, July 30 – Zoo La Palooza from 6 – 9 PM at the Lake Superior Zoo. Beer garden, Kids party, Disc golf, Animal experiences and more. Tickets are Adult 13+ $10, Child 3-12 years are $5. There will be a disc golf course, yard games, Kid’s Bubble Dance Party, live music, train rides, door prizes and food trucks. The entire zoo will be open so you’ll be able to see all of the animals plus be entered into a free raffle for our door prizes. There is an Adult and Child category!
  • Throughout August: The Arrowhead Library System is pleased to host The Magic of Celtic Music with Willow Brae. Andrea Stern (Celtic harps) and Laura MacKenzie (wooden flutes, concertina, whistles, various bagpipes, voice) form the duo Willow Brae. This free program is 1 hour long and is geared towards audiences age 7 and up. There are multiple locations and dates across the Northland. Tap for a list of locations and dates
  • Saturday, August 3 – New Screenwriting Contest Debuts in Duluth. Unfinished Work: A Screenwriting Contest will present some of the Northland’s finest screenwriters showing off their finest work. The event lasts from 9:30 am to 3:30 p.m. at Teatro Zuccone Theater. Come for an hour or come for the day. Admission is free. Screenwriters: There’s still time to enter.   • Saturday, August 3 – Cloquet FVW Herbert-Kennedy Post 3979 Outdoors Summer Music Night in the back parking lot. Music by Chill Harder. Food available from the Room At the Table Food Truck. From 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Friday, August 9 – Saturday, August 10 – 40th annual Ma & Pa Kettle Days in Kettle River, Minn. Come for the Steak Fry at the Fire Hall on Friday at 5 p.m. and enjoy music from Pine County Line at 8 p.m. Then on Saturday, sign up for the Mud Bog from 8 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., with the action starting at 1 p.m. There will be a pancake breakfast at the Senior Citizen’s Center at 8 a.m. The Midway runs 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Ice Cream & Homemade Pie Social from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Bean bags at 11 a.m. and more.
