UMD Captain Noah Cates is heading to the NHL

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey captain Noah Cates has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The team that drafted him in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. The Contract is set to begin this season, with Cates first game coming against who else, but the Minnesota Wild this Tuesday.

Noah’s brother Jackson is also in the Flyers organization, leaving UMD last year to sign as an undrafted free agent.

Noah Cates was captain at UMD for two years along with competing for team USA at this years Winter Olympics. He finished out this season with 24 points.
