Hat days in Hibbing to help raise money for Boys and Girls Club

This fall, the new Boys and Girls Club is scheduled to open in Hibbing. And kids themselves are helping fundraise.

Thursday was Hat Day at Greenhaven Elementary. If they pay $1, they can wear a hat all day.

Greenhaven is one of the spaces the new program could be. An estimated 125 kids will benefit from it.

There is also a March Madness fundraiser for the B&G Club there on Thursday night, from 6-8pm, where kids can shoot hoops and meet the varsity team.

Rep. Julie Sandstede has introduced legislation to provide up to $500,000 for the chapter.
