A fifth year with the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team this season, Koby Bender has officially inked a deal with the Bridgeport Islanders.

They’re the AHL affiliate for the NHL’s New York Islanders.

Coming out of Cloquet, the forward has agreed to terms on an amateur tryout agreement. Before skating for the Bulldogs, he has also spent time with the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Minnesota Wilderness in Cloquet.

Bender finished his UMD career with 22 goals and 37 assists.
