The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) baseball team will play their first home games of the season on Saturday. Not only that, the doubleheader will be the first time they welcome Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action to Duluth since joining the league this season.

The MIAC home opener means that freshman and Duluth Denfeld graduate Joe Udd will usher in two big collegiate milestones in his own backyard.

"I’m from Duluth so I imagine a lot of people will be there," said Udd, a left handed pitcher and first baseman. "[The home opener is] pretty exciting. We haven’t gone out to play on Wade [Stadium] yet since there’s been snow on it. Still a lot of excitement for this weekend, it’s just cool being a Saint."

CSS (5-9) is scheduled to host Bethel University Saturday at 1pm and 3:30pm at Wade Stadium.
