Sabrina Ullman: Rain chances continue through Monday

April 28: Rainy night

Tonight will have heavy rainfall and the potential for freezing rain and snow for areas in northern Minnesota.

Tonight will be rainy with temperatures staying close to where they are currently. The gusty east-northeast wind will become slightly weaker but still stay over 20 mph overnight. By Monday night, winds will be 5-15 mph.

On and off showers will continue tonight and most of Monday, clearing by 11 pm Monday. Although this round arrived a couple of hours early, we are still on track to have half an inch to an inch of rain throughout the Northland with localized higher amounts possible.

Monday’s highs will be mostly in the 40s. The North Shore and Superior will only reach the upper 30s, and areas including and east of Hayward will reach the low 50s.

Tuesday will be warmer with afternoon highs in the 50s to low 60s. Rain is likely Tuesday night, clearing by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the 60s. While that sounds nice, there will be strong westerly winds of 20-30 mph.

The rest of the week is expected to have rain chances, highs in the 50s, and gusty northwest winds.
