Friday will be mostly cloudy with an east wind of 5-15 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s, but areas along the North Shore will only reach the low 30s.

Snow chances return Friday afternoon as a clipper moves from west to east across the Northland. Areas in Koochiching and Itasca Counties will start seeing snow in the 3 o’clock hour. The snow will move into St. Louis County and the rest of the Arrowhead region during evening rush hour, staying mostly in the north portion of the area until around 7 pm.

Snow will begin for areas in northern Wisconsin in the 7-9 pm time frame as this system continues to move east. Areas west of the Twin Ports will clear by 7 am Saturday, and the rest of the Northland will be clear by around 10 am Saturday.

Accumulations will be 1-3 inches for areas north of Duluth and under an inch elsewhere. The rest of the weekend will be cloudy but dry.

A little bit of snow is likely Friday night with accumulations under 3 inches (WDIO).
