Winds tonight along with rain

The next couple days will see active weather as low pressure moves towards the Northland. Rain showers are expected to move from southwest to northeast across the region tonight. In addition to the rain, strong easterly winds are expected. Strong winds will continue along the North Shore this evening with gusts up to 45mph. A Wind Advisory continues for the shoreline of Lake Superior until midnight. Winds will die down by Wednesday afternoon.

A few thunderstorms will be possible tonight, but severe weather is not expected. Rain continues into Wednesday with the potential for a light wintry mix late tonight into early Wednesday morning in the higher elevations of the North Shore. Accumulating snow is not expected. Temperatures will warm up by the weekend with Sunday being the warmest. Friday will be be chilly and then it’s all up hill from there.

Showers. Low around 36. Windy, with an east wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
WEDNESDAY
Showers, mainly before 5pm. High near 45. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
THURSDAY
A 20 percent chance of rain after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Windy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
FRIDAY
A 40 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
SATURDAY
Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
SUNDAY
Sunny, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
MONDAY
A chance of rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
