Justin Liles: Maybe a few flurries tonight

February 21st: Light flurries coming

Light flurries coming

Tonight, there is a small chance we could see a few flurries falling from the sky. No accumulations are likely. The warm trend will continue overnight as low will again be nearly 15°-20° above normal. Unseasonably warm air will carry us through the end of February and beginning of March. Thursday will be another warm day with temperatures in the low to mid 40s. We are going to see plenty of sunshine too. Winds will likely be out of the west and be quite breezy. We could see gusts as high as 30mph. This will likely create warmer by the lake conditions. Temperatures are expected to climb into well into the mid-40s.

By Friday we’ll see the coldest day of week as thermometers drop into the 20s. By Saturday, more sunshine returns as well as warmer temperatures into the 40s. Heading into next week, many communities around the Northland will likely see temperatures climbing to near 50°F. There is hope for some snow. We may see some snow late next Tuesday into Wednesday morning. If we get less than 1.5” of snow, we will see the least snowy February on record.
