Justin Liles: Cold tonight and chance for some light snow

February 22nd: Cold tonight

Cold tonight

Temperatures continue to be well above average and most of the region had highs today that were 20° warmer than average. Tonight, a cold front will slide south from Canada and bring a brief shot of cold air along with it. This colder air is likely going to help to create a few flurries around the region with as much as a 1” possible on the south shore east of Ashland. Overnight lows are going to drop into the single digits up north to 20s around the lake and northern Wisconsin.

Most of the highs around the region will likely see a quick dive Friday before we begin warming up on Saturday. Many highs will likely be in the teens and 20s Friday. Sunshine along with the return of upper 30s and lower 40s takes us through the weekend. Some 50s are possible Monday. A large system will affect the Northland Tuesday through Thursday next week. Measurable amounts of rain and snow appear likely, although the location, timing, and amounts will continue to change.
