Justin Liles: Above average temperatures return for the weekend.

February 29th: Warm Friday

Warm Friday

Look for skies to clear out tonight. Skies tomorrow will be mostly clear as a ridge of high pressure moves over the region ahead of approaching low pressure. Expect a wind shift to the south to occur on Friday, increasing high temps into the upper 40s to low 50s for most locations. Winds will be increasing mid Friday morning and remain breezy through the afternoon. Strong sustained winds of 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph will be possible on Friday in northwest Wisconsin.

A warm front and low-pressure system are expected to bring very warm temps and precipitation this weekend. Record-breaking warmth will be possible, especially on Sunday as highs reach up to the 50s and 60s. In addition, southerly winds on Sunday will likely be strong, gusting up to 35 mph. The environment late Sunday might be unstable enough to produce some thunder. Some snow may develop up north late Sunday too.
