Unseasonable warmth isn’t going anywhere until a cold front passes Thursday night into Friday, then it quickly returns over the weekend. Duluth’s daily normal temps for today are a high of 27° and a low of 8°. Our Wednesday begins with temps in mid-20s to low 30s. A deck of clouds tries to bring a stray flurry to north central Minnesota this morning, then we look near the international border for a passing flurry this evening and tonight. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun overall today with highs returning to upper 30s o near 50. With daily record highs being in the 50s, the only spot that may achieve a record today is Brainerd with 52° as the temp to beat.

Tonight is partly cloudy with lows once again staying in low to upper 20s. Thursday is mostly sunny with highs returning to upper 30s to near 50 looking from north to south across the Northland. It’ll be breezy with a west northwest wind around 15 mph. Clouds return from the north behind the cold front Thursday afternoon and evening. A few snow showers try to work south of the Canadian border behind the front Thursday night, then the South Shore will see lake effect snow chances overnight into Friday morning. Even here, snow amounts would stay very minimal under an inch.

Saturday sees temps back in upper 30s to mid-40s with mostly sunny skies and a breezy southwest wind. Warm and dry weather will continue until Tuesday to Wednesday when a system may bring a mix of rain and snow to the Northland along with another shot of cold air once it exits to the east.
