Brandon Weatherz: Quiet and comfortable week ahead

February 19: Quiet and comfortable week ahead

Daily forecast from the Storm Track Weather Team

A comfortable and quiet stretch will take us through the middle of the week. Our Monday begins a bit chilly with temps ranging from a couple degrees below zero near and north of the Iron Range to teens near Lake Superior and in east central Minnesota. A deck of high clouds will be found near and south of the Twin Ports today with sunshine abounding to the north. Temps quickly rise back above freezing with highs in mid-30s to near 40 for much of the region. An east wind will keep cooler conditions along the North Shore. Tonight is milder with lows in teens to mid-20s under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday sees us into mid-30s to mid-40s with a mix of clouds and sun.

Wednesday will be warmer yet with 40s extending to the Twin Ports, Grand Rapids, and Two Harbors. Highs stay in the 30s near and north of the Iron Range. Thursday will be yet another warm one with mid-30s to mid-40s looking north to south across the region, but a cold front passing will knock us down a peg to end the week. Friday sees highs staying in teens to mid-20s. The chill will be brief with a warming trend taking us through another quiet weekend. The only snow in the region would be localized lake effect for the South Shore Thursday and Friday.
