Snowfall reports for December 13-17, 2022

Other than a few lingering flurries and lake-effect snowfall on the South Shore, this week’s winter storm is finally almost over. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 pm Saturday for Carlton, South St. Louis, Pine, Douglas, Bayfield, Burnett, and Washburn Counties.

Meteorologist Sabrina Ullman says the snow will gradually taper off from west to east tonight, making way for a cloudy but dry Sunday.

Wet, heavy snow began on Tuesday evening and continued in waves through Saturday. There were blizzard conditions for portions of the Northland from 6 am to 2:30 pm on Wednesday and a second time from 2:30 am to 6 am Thursday. This storm has been nicknamed “The Blue Blizzard” due to the blue tint of the snow..
