Sabrina Ullman: Widespread rain likely late Thursday night, Friday

A few showers are possible this evening before 10 pm, mostly staying south of the Twin Ports. Pine, Burnett, Washburn, and Sawyer Counties have a chance of isolated severe thunderstorms with large hail and strong winds possible.

Thursday will be a touch cooler with most of the Northland having highs in the low seventies. It will be nice throughout the day.

Widespread rain will enter the region late Thursday night, moving west to east. Light rain is expected Friday morning, and scattered thunderstorms are likely in the evening. This round of rain will likely last into early Saturday.

Rainfall amounts will likely vary from a tenth of an inch to close to an inch of total accumulation. There are more chances of rain every day in the 7-day forecast, but drought conditions are expected to worsen as not much accumulation is expected.
