After breaking the record for season snowfall in Duluth this morning, our messy spring storm will continue through Friday. The heaviest snowfall will be early this evening towards Koochiching and Itasca Counties.

Northern Wisconsin has been dealing with rain rather than snow this afternoon, and we’ve had freezing rain along the rain/snow line. By midnight, the precipitation type will just be snow throughout the Northland.

Snow will continue Friday, mostly staying west of the North Shore in the morning. By midday, this round will move into Wisconsin, becoming widespread in the afternoon. With afternoon highs close to 40 degrees, we will see a return of rain and freezing rain in some areas.

Friday’s snow will be lighter than what we dealt with today. Some snow will linger into Saturday, with minimal accumulation. We could see a few flurries Sunday, but conditions will otherwise become quiet for a few days.
