Due to very low relative humidity, gusty south winds, and warm temperatures, Cook, Lake, northern St. Louis, Koochiching, and Itasca Counties are under a Fire Weather Watch until 9 pm Monday. Near-critical fire weather is likely for the rest of the Northland.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows in the forties and fifties. A light southeast wind will become stronger by Monday afternoon.

Memorial Day will be mostly cloudy with highs mostly in the low eighties. The southeast wind will keep temperatures cooler by the lake, especially towards Canal Park and Superior.

Spotty showers are possible Monday into Tuesday but should stay mostly west until Tuesday night. Much-needed rain will arrive Tuesday evening, with portions of Itasca, Beltrami, southwestern St. Louis, Aitkin, and Carlton Counties getting around half an inch of rain.

The rest of the area will have a quarter of an inch or less of accumulation with Tuesday night’s rain. More on/off rain is possible for the remainder of the week.
