Tonight will be cloudy with dense fog lingering towards the head of the lake and up the North Shore. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10 am Monday for Carlton County as well as the southern portions of St. Louis, Lake, and Cook Counties.

Rain is likely tonight into Monday, with lingering showers Monday night. Weak thunderstorms are likely this evening, with potential for small hail. Portions of Koochiching and Itasca Counties will have close to an inch of rain in the next 24 hours, while the rest of the Northland can expect half an inch or less.

The easterly wind that has been keeping temperatures significantly cooler by the lake will weaken tonight. Monday will still be cooler for areas close to the shore, but Lake Superior will have less of an influence over the next few days. Afternoon highs will range from close to fifty degrees along the North Shore to around seventy degrees in Pine and Burnett Counties.

We could see a few passing showers mid-week, particularly Tuesday night into Wednesday. Rain chances increase again by the end of the week, with widespread rain likely Saturday. A high-pressure system will move in Sunday into Monday, bringing calmer weather.
