This morning, minimum temperatures ranged from -16 to 4 degrees. With a strong northwesterly wind, wind chill values dropped to the -30s for most of the Northland.

Similar conditions are in store tonight through Monday. Overnight lows will range from -11 in the Twin Ports to -2 in Grand Marais, but wind chill values will be in the -20s to -30s. Exposed skin could get frostbite in as little as 15 minutes Monday morning, so extra layers are advised.

Afternoon highs will be close to zero Monday, but wind chills will be in the -20s at best. Cold, windy conditions will last into Tuesday morning.

The good news is that this bout of bitter cold will not last too long. Wind speeds will decrease Tuesday afternoon, and temperatures will warm to the low teens (above zero) in some areas by the weekend.
