Justin Liles: Snow along with slick roads tonight

January 5th: Slick roads and snow

Slick roads and snow

Snowfall will continue through Saturday. There looks to be a window where a lull in the snow may happen from the Twin Ports southward into Wisconsin. This will happen from around 10am to 3pm. Overall snowfall amounts from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning will be greatest tonight into Saturday afternoon. Most of the region will see some 3-6 inches of snow. The greatest snowfall amounts of will be in the higher terrain for the North Shore with chances for 6-7 inches in a few spots.

Once the system passes northwest winds will take over and bring added snowfall amounts to the snowbelt east of Ashland Sunday night into Monday. Colder air hangs around next week and looks to get colder by the end of next week. Another snow maker looks to arrive by the end of next week.
