Justin Liles: More snow on the way and getting colder

January 9th: Snow and cold still coming

Snow and cold still coming

Our week will continue to be rather busy. More snow is likely along the south shore overnight. Ashland to Ironwood may wake up to an additional inch on the ground. Warmer temperatures are the region tonight could lead to some widespread freezing drizzle.

This could also lead into the early morning hours. We will get a break for a brief break from mid-morning to early Wednesday afternoon. Another round of snow will get going Wednesday night and last through Friday morning. As of now most of will see 2-4” of snow with some localized higher amounts along the north shore. Lake enhancement could add to this total as well.

Following this second round of snow temperatures are going to drop and winds are going to pick up. Wind chill values will drop into the -20° to -30° range over the weekend.
