The annoying low we have been talking about continues to churn near Iowa. With a strong area of high pressure tracking across Canada, strong winds have set up over Lake Superior. Large waves could be seen near the shoreline on Friday. Conditions have been ideal for local Lake Superior surfers to get out on the water and play. Winds will begin to quiet down some as we head into Saturday.

Winds will turn more to the northeast Saturday and aid in the creation of light rain along the south shore. The remainder of the region will likely be dry with overcast skies. By Sunday, some sunshine returns and the winds look to die down. This will be the start of a drier stretch until late Wednesday. Some light rain looks to return by the end of the week. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 50s beginning Sunday too.
