Justin Liles: Heavy Lake Effect on South Shore

The big weather story is a large low creating northerly winds off the lake. The lake effect snow machine has turned on and some heavy snow is expected for the snow belt of the south shore. Lake Effect Snow is expected to develop this evening, and then continue overnight and into Monday. Several inches of snowfall is expected for parts of Iron County!

Breezy North winds will produce some blowing and drifting snow. Travel conditions to become slick and hazardous for the Monday morning commute, mainly for northern Iron County! A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Iron County Wisconsin, and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Ashland County tonight and Monday.

Tonight: A slight chance of snow showers before 11pm, then a chance of flurries between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Blustery, with a northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Monday: A chance of flurries in the morning, Partly sunny, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 38. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
