Well we got the news we’ve been wanting. The weather team has been saying this system was looking more and more likely to be sliding farther to our south. This is exactly what is happening. The trouble will be east central MN to northern WI. These areas will see heavier snow bands that could exceed 6” of new snow. To make things worse, winds this evening are expected to blow over 40-50 mph. Roads and driving conditions will deteriorate rapidly in these areas.

Blinding snow is likely south of the Twin Ports. Winds will ease some into tomorrow morning and we’ll see some sunshine. There is another chance of rain/snow mix Sunday into Monday. Our eyes will then shift to our next snowstorm heading our way Tuesday through Thursday morning. This one looks to be larger than our current system and farther north. At this moment, all areas from the Twin Ports and north look to see the heaviest snow and gusty winds. There are many uncertainties at this time, especially with track and snow totals, so please stay tuned.
