Justin Liles: A drier week likely

A weak cold front will continue to dive south this afternoon. This may lead to a few additional showers and thunderstorms through the evening. The front will also help to clear out the smoke around the region that has create an air quality alert until tomorrow afternoon. Winds will likely be lighter out of the east and create cooler conditions by the lake. It also means very little rain is possible this week.

Because of our drier conditions this week, near critical fire weather conditions will be likely, especially in the Minnesota Arrowhead and most of northwest Wisconsin. Showers looks to return by this weekend, and we may see a few isolated stronger thunderstorms through the arrowhead Friday afternoon. This looks to potentially linger into early Saturday morning. There is another chance for widespread showers Saturday afternoon. Sunday looks sunny.
