We get to put Wind Chill Advisories in the rearview mirror as we head into a much warmer and more comfortable stretch of weather through the coming week. Temperatures begin in teens to low 20s heading out the door Monday morning. Areas of light snow and ice accumulation have brought slick road reports near and north of a line from Grand Rapids to Hibbing to Silver Bay. Skies stay cloudy today with highs staying in low to upper 20s. Scattered light snow showers may return to northern Minnesota this afternoon and evening. Accumulation remains under an inch as a dusting. Winds developing out of the east tonight will bring light lake effect snow to the shorelines of Lake Superior. A localized 1-2” is possible in the high terrain of Lake and Cook Co. through Tuesday morning.

Lows tonight will be in teens to low 20s under mostly cloudy skies, then Tuesday sees us into upper 20s to low 30s. By Wednesday, morning lows will be in the mid-20s and highs will be near and above freezing in the mid-30s. Similarly mild conditions will then continue each day through the weekend. There’s only one other round of minimal snow in the region which would begin Wednesday night and exit to the east through Thursday. This round would involve a mix of rain and snow. Any accumulation would stay under an inch, and it would extend from east central Minnesota toward the Twin Ports and across northwest Wisconsin.
