Brandon Weatherz: Warm and quiet stretch continues

February 1: Warm and quiet stretch continues

Daily forecast from the Storm Track Weather Team

February starts mild, but it won’t be as warm as yesterday. Cooler conditions arrive to the Northland today on the backside of a cold front. A large area of high pressure over Ontario will allow a breezy east wind to develop today. There’s a low chance for drizzle immediately near the shorelines of Lake Superior, and that’s it for any kind of precipitation in the forecast over the next seven days. Skies will be mostly cloudy with cloud cover increasing from the north. Temps begin ranging from low 20s to low 30s, then highs stay in mid-30s to low 40s.

Tonight will be the “coldest” in the forecast, but lows will still be near daily average highs in upper teens to mid-20s. Friday features sunshine and highs ranging from near freezing along the North Shore to low 40s near Brainerd and Hayward. Widespread highs return to the 40s starting Saturday and continuing each day through Wednesday. A light east wind is expected Saturday through Monday with temps immediately near the shorelines of Lake Superior staying in the 30s.
