Areas of light snow and freezing drizzle are leading to slick spots for the Monday morning commute. This will persist here and there through the morning. Widespread light snow showers reach southward of the Canadian border this evening and overnight staying north of Duluth. Amounts under an inch of accumulation for the Iron Range and across the Arrowhead and into the South Shore, but it could be enough for a slick Tuesday morning commute in these areas. This minimal round of snow is the only one in the current forecast.

Our temperatures trend cooler through Tuesday, then a warming trend kicks in starting Wednesday. Highs stay below freezing today in upper 20s to low 30s, then we bottom out in teens tonight. A blustery west northwest wind behind a cold front will have wind chill values near and below zero Tuesday morning. Highs then stay in upper teens to mid-20s Tuesday, and the coldest stretch will be Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with temps in single digits to low teens across the Northland.

Wednesday sees a return to highs in the 30s, then 40s arrive Thursday. A stretch of above average temperatures stays with us through the weekend along with a generally quiet stretch. The only chance for precipitation is a slight one on Friday, and precipitation type for that potential round would be a mixed bag.
