After a cold Wednesday, temps return near average today. There are still some cool and frosty spots heading out the door, particularly in northwest Wisconsin. Temperatures will be comfortable this afternoon with highs in low to mid 60s. Cloud cover increases from the west going into the afternoon, then mostly cloudy skies linger overnight and into Friday morning. Through this period, a few sprinkles will be possible. Clouds and light rain chances exit southeast across northern Wisconsin on Friday with sunshine returning. Friday will be mild with highs reaching mid-60s to near 70.

The weekend will continue to be rather quiet and seasonable with a mix of clouds and sun. A breezy east wind arrives Saturday to keep highs in the 50s along the shorelines. Sunday will also have a cool lake breeze, but with less gusto. Overall, it should be a pleasant weekend for outdoor plans and viewing the fall colors.
