April 15-17 snow reports

A wet weekend turned snowy as April crossed the midpoint in the Northland. Accumulating snow fell in much of northern Minnesota Saturday night and Sunday. Areas east of Duluth took the focus for additional snow Monday with the greatest amounts falling along the South Shore of Lake Superior.

Many people wonder if Duluth has passed the all time record? We concluded this snow event as the second snowiest season on record in Duluth with 135.1″. The record is 135.4″ set in the winter of 1995-1996. Duluth is expected to rise into first later in the week. Forecast available here.
