If there was ever a time for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey squad to prove themselves, it would be this weekend. The Bulldogs are set to host the number one ranked, defending national champions, Denver Pioneers at AMSOIL Arena.

“There are some things that have gotten better but it’s not there yet and hopefully it will get there soon. You know what playing a team like Denver hopefully will bring out our best it usually does. We’ve had a lot of games against them we’ve had some great games we’ve had some big games. Our older guys remember that and for our younger guys it’s going to be their real true test against the elite,” said head coach Scott Sandelin.

UMD enters with a 8-8 overall record to Denver’s 12-4. Puck drop Friday is set for 7pm.
